I was shocked when I saw John and George super imposed in there but since it’s a song that’s kind of celebrating that 62 years of the Beatles so it makes sense (even though they made music for just 8 of those years)

I love that line. 'Just because you doesn't mean you should.' Restraint often is a key to refinement and good taste. I loved this when I first saw it now I find it rather too overt and obvious in it's intentiont to influence. Instant reaction wow – lasting impression – oh no.

Honestly that's how I felt about the song itself, a "hodgepodge, thrown together" afterthought, not really well thought out. The song literally felt to me like a throw away, not ever worth completing at all, actually meant to be left on the cutting room floor. I guarantee you neither John nor George wanted the song to be "completed" or "finished" as it were. I really feel this was just a money-grab, a poor attempt at revitalization or forced remembrance, it feels very awkward and out of place. Where as 'Real Love' and 'Free As A Bird' weren't as polished at the time they were at least beautiful well written songs that felt more like Beatles songs, 'Now And Then' just isn't a good song to me, and I am quite sure I'm not the only one who thinks this.

Every Musician or Artist has things they rethink or regret, not all ideas are good, there's always a bit of foder. I again feel like this was one song that was never meant to see the light of day…

An excellent review. In summation, a lot more effort could have gone into it and The Cheese factor is a little high. And where you talk about the Cheese Tightrope, The Carpenters and Bread are good examples😂

Uh bruh I think you are being way too serious about the video the four of them were always goofy in terms of how they presented themselves even as a group, it makes sense that Paul and Ringo weren’t in the same room considering how busy both of them are but I thought the compositing of George and John worked imo the whole concept was meant to be a tribute to both of them

I hated it at first but it's grown on me a bit. The ai still looks rough and it's still quite goofy at points but I did like showing them as they are now and how they were then.

These endless YouTube analyses of "Now and Then" have given me more appreciation for the Anthology effort of the mid-1990s. That was the real grand finale of The Beatles, with the full involvement of the three living Beatles. The hours of interviews, the three albums, and the two new singles brought everything to a complete closure. This new song isn't the end of anything—it's only the beginning of more and more AI-generated Beatles "music". After Paul McCartney dies, all kinds of stuff will emerge from the closet of this incredibly creative musician.

Nice assessment of this video. I thought this video was just TOO bizarre and not very good in comparison to creativeness of "Free as a bird" video and the classy simplicity of "Real Love" video from the 90's. The juxtaposition of this somewhat haunting song with these goofy "hamming it up" images of The Beatles from the "Hello Goodbye" video just didn't work for me. The image of Lennon twerking about in front of the orchestra is just unnerving. Also, is it me or do his hands appear to be too big???? That cheesy image of an AI animated Lennon sort of nodding and looking into the sunset at those four young lads is just bad at trying to pull at the sentimental heart strings. There is something about the technology used that just leaves me cold and unimpressed. I hear people crying over this video. All I can do is keep from cringing. Maybe I've just become too cynical about this stuff and Paul's neediness to finish this song NOW almost 30 years after the original anthology project. Sorry George, but, part of me just wishes ALL three of them had recorded this song with whatever limitations there were at the time and released it along with a video back in '95 as the third new song on the final installment of the anthology project. I think I would have been fine with that. But now??? I would be curious what this song would have sounded like and what video they would have come up with.
